I was 56 years old in August of 2017 when I was told, “I’m sorry. I am quite sure you have cancer. I just don’t know what kind”. I soon found out I had Primary Peritoneal Cancer, Stage 3C to be exact. I am not a professional writer or professional anything for that matter, just a woman wanting to share her journey and connect with other PPC/OC fighters and survivors as there is not much out there for us to relate to, to grab on to. Although I struggle with this from time to time, I feel we need to do our best to not allow this disease to take over our lives. It is bad enough it does monopolize our lives during treatment and our lives may be cut short but we don't have to allow it to steal the life we have left. I hope you to share your experiences and comments as the purpose of this blog is for us to share our experiences and give each other support as best we can.
!!WARNING!! neither spelling nor punctuation are my strong points! Consider yourself forewarned!!!
DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor, nurse or a professional anything and nothing in my blog is intended as medical advice or professional advice of any kind. I will simply share my experiences as I went through chemo, my ups and downs and random musings. Please know everyone is different and your experience and reactions may be completely different than mine. So grab your beverage of choice and join me as we get through this together!

Legacy
I am unexpectedly-newly retired. Hubby and I retired to western NC and I am loving it! I was blindsided with the diagnosis of Primary Peritoneal Cancer Stage 3C in August of 2017. I had surgery and completed 6 rounds of chemo. I am currently in remission. Feeling great and working on getting my strength back. I have been getting down to basics and loving it! I am making as much as I am able to from scratch: bread, yogurt, meals, laundry detergent, etc. I hope to do more canning now.
Motown: Life is neither good nor bad but thinking makes it so.
We don’t know how strong we are until being strong is the only choice we have.
Always! Always use sunscreen!
